‘Liberation rests on the construction of the consciousness, the imaginative apprehension, of oppression, and so of possibility.’
-Donna Haraway, "A Cyborg Manifesto", 1983
The art collective 0s+1s was a second generation cyberfeminist project, directly informed by the cyberfeminist practices and productions of the 80s and 90s which sought to understand, critique, imagine and occupy the new digital space from a feminist standpoint.
0s+1s was comprised of several artists based in Sweden and the UK, whose practices utilise and critique digital technology and its uses NOW, 20 years since the first wave of cyberfeminism. Collectively, through shared texts, Skype discussions, a website, screening programmes, exhibitions and rare meetings in person, 0s+1s worked on a project-by-project basis towards the continuation of the cyberfeminist project.
